Given the current price of gas, it has limited me getting out in the field to do any kind of filming. I have spent a lot of time sorting or backing up old video files. I also made a new video a couple weeks ago, "Hummingbirds Of Southern California. I started filming hummingbird, mostly in my backyard, when I bought my first Panasonic GH3 in the spring of 2013. I then upgraded to a GH4 and then...

I though somebody was playing with an RC car outside my house but it was this mf, fed him, took him home, now he's my sweet lil bird
There’s a group of Least Bell's Vireo that come to my outdoor water fountain and bathed and drink water in it , at first sight they stood out from the rest with there yellow stomach and grey wings and appears bit larger than the others , didn’t know what species they where until I recently read a article about them almost going extinct
Моя любимая птичка Выпь
We have yellow and blue in SE AZ.
Ive been playing this thru a Bluetooth speaker outside in the morning. The wrens go nuts. The call at 1:01 is a territorial call and will start bird wars. The call at 1:15 appears to be a mating call. Ive had a few almost land on me while playing that one. Nature hates me lol
Great shot and audio, Don. I’ve gone to the “famous” Thrasher shot spot here in Maricopa Cty, AZ during the last 13 years I’ve lived here, but never got the really good look that you got here.
I used to think my neighbor was playing with an rc car

The trill is so cute
Thank for your wonderful inspiration for my Scripture Illustration Journaling of Mark 4:30
Beautiful.
I came here from a post on r/whatsthisbird and I must say, I’m not disappointed
Nice and beautiful video. Thanks for sharing.
I just saw one blue grosbeak near Irapuato, Mexico, where I live. Beautiful bird.
British Columbia we found it
Just saw my first male of the season, April 29 here in north Florida. Cool bird.
Yo atrape uno que cambiaba de oro a plata me dio mucho miedo
I miss the sounds of the desert 🏜️
Very beautiful footage!
I wove him!! He's a big bird too, he's heron afterall. So cute!
The cactus that it was on, was that a Teddy Bear Cholla?
Yes, and I have learned to keep your distance, or it will get you. Don
@DonDesJardin my rule is if you see it, you're already too close
SUBHAAN ALLAH ALLAH O AKBAR
Such a classic American desert sound 🏜💛
Lovely footage
Amazing video, thank you for sharing! I love watching the Black-headed Grosbeaks that visit our feeders.
How lucky you west coasters are to see this bird. Wish I could see him once.
The call of the cactus wren is the bird I associate the most with the desert.
This is great footage, why anyone would thumbs down is beyond me. Well done.
The GeoCoucou calling on territory.... beep beep...❤️
Worst video ever! No narration.. and from what I've researched, this looks like a rufous... Why do you have the tittle saying rufous and allens hummingbird?
“Welcome to my home. It’s hot and dry, watch out for the sharp pointy things, Enjoy your stay here in the desert”
Great moment! Super quality A mouse (or rat?) is too big for him. I was watching the whole movie and wondering if it finished the prey.
glad you liked the video. It was eating a small Pocket Gopher. It eventually flew off to another perch to finish it off.
supercute!
Nicely done. The humongous-looking yellowthroats came in handy, emphasizing how small this bird is for a heron!
Beautiful, I want to move back to Tuscon now
I positively love all the other birdsongs present in this video too. It really makes me smile, and brings me to a serene place where I'm just enjoying the evening settle in, the colors of the day giving way to sunset then stars, listening to the birds sing.
Thank you for viewing my video and I'm so happy that you enjoyed it.....Don
very beautiful! what a gymnast :)
Except this is an Indigo Bunting.
An Indigo Bunting at this location would a very rare vagrant. I hope you have a good field guide for North American birds.
Beautiful
Can i use this video for a documental?
Feel free to use it, but remember to give me name credit. Also, please send me a link to your finished video after it's completed......Don
